The University of Colorado at Boulder has received its first in-state commit for the 2016 football class. Terriek Roberts, a 6-foot-6 offensive lineman out of Denver South High School, will be a Buffalo.
Roberts was heavily recruited by a number of schools including Arizona State, Nebraska, Kansas, Wyoming and Colorado State. According to the Ralphie Report, Adam Munsterteiger of Buff Stampede said Roberts impressed last weekend at CU’s individual camp and received his offer shortly after.
Roberts, who will be a senior this upcoming fall announced his decision on Twitter Sunday night.

Arguably the best offensive tackle in the state, Roberts is a big addition for thw Buffaloes who are just trying to stay competitive in what has become a deep Pac-12 Conference.
Roberts talked about Buffs coach Mike MacIntyre offering him the best future, “He said I would have the best opportunity at CU to get on the field and that made my decision over the other schools, just the fact that he offered me at both defensive tackle and offensive line, proves he’s willing to trust me. It’s rare for a coach to offer at both positions and Coach Mac said he wants to build around me being a homegrown kid.”
The upside for the 6-foot-6 255-pound senior is undeniable. With a full senior year coming up for Roberts, he is taking things slow and will be ready to help the Buffs come 2016. “The most important thing is to contribute for the team. I’m putting on weight and getting stronger. I hope to get to 270 pounds by the time I get to Boulder.”
