The Denver Broncos will be on the clock in April for the 2025 NFL Draft. Where will they be picking when it’s all said and done?
Denver Broncos 2025 NFL Draft position is set
The Denver Broncos have a fun offseason ahead. For the first time in what seems like forever, they’ll be entering the offseason without having to ask themselves who their quarterback will be. His name is Bo Nix and he’ll be around for quite some time.
The goal for Sean Payton and the Broncos is to build this team around Nix and surround him with playmakers and continuity and that first phase could take place during NFL Free Agency in March.
However, when the NFL Draft rolls around in April, the Broncos will be selecting 20th overall after their 10-7 finish in the regular season. This has been the highest position they’ve picked since 2019, when they took Noah Fant in the first round after trading back with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Several team needs that could be highlighted for Denver in the draft are running back, wide receiver, tight end, and inside linebacker, in no particular order.
With more salary cap space, a smaller hit with Russell Wilson’s dead cap, and more draft capital to work with than the team has had in recent memory, this offseason will be a crucial one for the Broncos.
“Yes, there’s a time for that,” Sean Payton said. “We get out of that cap problem—now that cap we have available—everyone has available. It’s not like our dollar is stronger than everyone else’s. We have to have a good off season.”
Those were Payton’s thoughts directly after the Broncos loss on Sunday to the Buffalo Bills. We’re still a very long ways out from doing mock drafts or getting too engulfed in NFL Draft talk, but what the Broncos do in free agency will help paint a picture surrounding Payton and George Paton’s vision.
