The Denver Broncos are making big changes under the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group. Since taking over the franchise last season, Denver’s new ownership group has invested in being forward-thinking to improve the overall experience for players, staff, employees, and fans.
Beginning this spring, the team announced that they will begin construction on a brand new team headquarters and training facility in Dove Valley, building on their already pre-existing land at the Centura Training Center.
“Our vision is to create a new home for the Denver Broncos that reflects our values of winning and teamwork with a modern Colorado design,” Broncos Owner & CEO Greg Penner said in Tuesday’s press release. “While we considered several options to modify our current facility, we decided to do this the right way by building a new player-centered headquarters with an efficient layout and the latest amenities. Having both our football and business operations on the same campus will foster a championship environment in pursuit of our goals on and off the field.”

Upgrades and additions to the new training facility will increase the overall size and capacity by nearly 30%. It’s expected to be three stories and 205,000 square feet. Overall, the entirety of the Broncos team headquarters is expected to span more than 320,000 square feet on a 26-acre campus.

The combination of layout, collaborative spaces, flexibility and size will place the Broncos’ new training facility among the very best in all of sports.”
The new design is aimed at enhancing player health and performance and will create enough space to add a multitude of employees whose day-to-day offices are currently residing at Empower Field at Mile High. On top of that, the construction isn’t expected to impact fans’ ability to attend training camp for the next few summers, with the team planning on utilizing temporary seating going forward.
The overall construction and design of the company will be managed and overseen by HOK — a global design, architecture, engineering, and planning firm. The Rockwell Group will also help oversee the design of the new facility as well.
One thing that stands out is the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group’s desire to listen to their players — with plans to expand player locker rooms, meeting spaces, and sports performance areas per the press release. This area is set to increase by nearly 21,000 square feet. Denver’s football operations will be located on the second floor of the new facility and business operations is set to be located on the third floor.
