The Denver Broncos could be getting some help back on offense and defense with two players returning to the practice field for the first time since landing on short-term injured reserve. Denver wrapped up their only practice of the week on Tuesday afternoon before they travel on Wednesday to New Orleans for Thursday Night Football.
Denver Broncos OT Mike McGlinchey, OLB Baron Browning return to practice
As the Denver Broncos are trying to turn things around following Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on a short week before Thursday Night’s primetime showdown against the New Orleans Saints, help could be on the way.
Offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey was spotted on Tuesday participating in team stretch during the media viewing portion of practice. McGlinchey was placed on short-term injured reserve after Week 2 after he suffered an MCL sprain. He is officially eligible to return off of injured reserve, but considering the team’s short stretch this week for Thursday’s game against the Saints, it wouldn’t come as a shock if the Broncos hold off on bringing him back until next week when the team hosts the Carolina Panthers.
Outside linebacker Baron Browning was also spotted back on the field during team stretch on Tuesday. Browning suffered a foot injury against the Steelers and also went on short-term injured reserve. For the last couple of weeks, both Browning and McGlinchey have been working on the team’s side field.
The Broncos could officially open up their 21-day window to return here in a matter of hours, but that announcement will likely come from the team, as practice just wrapped up a few moments ago. McGlinchey’s replacement during his injury had been undrafted rookie Alex Palczewski, who suffered a high ankle sprain against the Las Vegas Raiders and was listed as an estimated limited participant on Monday if the team had officially practiced.
Denver will release their injury report here shortly after Broncos head coach Sean Payton speaks to the media.
