The Denver Broncos kick things off on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons at 2:05 p.m. MT on FOX. Which players from the Broncos practice squad will be elevated on gameday?

Denver Broncos elevate linebacker Zach Cunningham, safety Keidron Smith vs. Atlanta Falcons

For the second consecutive week, the Denver Broncos are elevating veteran linebacker Zach Cunningham from the practice squad to the gameday roster as they prepare to take on the Atlanta Falcons and Kirk Cousins.

Cunningham did not play any defensive snaps or any special teams snaps against the Chiefs last week. The trend will likely remain the same this week unless there’s an injury on either unit.

Veteran linebacker Kwon Alexander ran out of practice squad elevations and the team is waiting to see how things unfold for the next two weeks in terms of trying to shuffle their active roster. Right now with 53 players on it, they’ll have to make decisions here soon on who to release in order to bring back wide receiver Josh Reynolds, whose 21-day window opened this week.

Reynolds was a full participant all week long in practice, but Denver is holding him out of Sunday’s game. The clock is also ticking on the team’s decision for safety Delarrin Turner-Yell, whose window opened three weeks ago. As his 21 days are approaching, the Broncos would have to make a move to release a player from the active roster in order to bring him up onto the 53, or else he’ll revert back to IR for the remainder of the season if they don’t do that.

The same thing applies here soon with second-year outside linebacker Drew Sanders, who was also a full participant all week long alongside Reynolds and Turner-Yell.

Denver also elevated safety Keidron Smith to the gameday roster. Smith previously made the Broncos 53-man roster after the NFL preseason, but was released last week and was brought back onto the practice squad. This will be his first of three allotted practice squad elevations.

Kickoff is slated for 2:05 p.m. MT on FOX.
