The Denver Broncos have announced which players they are elevating from the practice squad to the gameday roster ahead of tomorrow’s season opener against the Tennessee Titans. They also placed Malcolm Roach on short-term IR and promoted Sam Ehlinger to the 53-man roster.

Denver Broncos elevate LB Levelle Bailey vs. Titans

With Dre Greenlaw’s Broncos’ debut on ice for Week 1 as he continues to battle a quad injury, Sean Payton is calling on reinforcements by elevating second-year linebacker Levelle Bailey for Sunday’s game.

Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad are expected to start on Sunday, but Denver needs more depth and some help on special teams.

Bailey gets the call up as well as fullback Adam Prentice, who will be elevated for gameday.

After suffering a Grade 2 calf strain, the Broncos also placed veteran defensive tackle Malcolm Roach on short-term injured reserve, which means he’ll be out a mandatory four weeks, but is expected to return this season, which is good news.

Jordan Jackson and Eyioma Uwazurike are both expected to see an increased workload with Roach’s injury, factoring into the rotation alongside and behind D.J. Jones.

Procedurally, with Roach landing on IR, the Broncos also promoted veteran quarterback Sam Ehlinger to the 53-man roster. Ehlinger now joins Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham on the active roster, where he’ll be designated as the emergency quarterback on Sunday against the Titans, but will likely be a gameday inactive.
