The Denver Broncos have made two standard roster moves ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the New England Patriots. With Nik Bonitto being ruled out with a knee injury, the Broncos have elevated another pass rusher to the gameday roster.
Denver Broncos elevate Ronnie Perkins vs. Patriots
Broncos pass rusher Ronnie Perkins will get to face his former team on Sunday after the team elevated him from the practice squad to their gameday roster.
Perkins was initially on the 53-man roster several weeks ago but was waived to make room for tight end Lucas Krull to be elevated. The former Patriot cleared waivers and signed back to Denver’s practice squad the day after being waived.
With pass rusher Nik Bonitto being ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Patriots with a knee injury, Denver elected to elevate Perkins from the practice squad to give them added depth at the position.
In five games this season with Denver, Perkins has accumulated eight tackles and two tackles for a loss with one quarterback hit. He’ll likely be in the Broncos pass rush package, featuring him and rookie Drew Sanders when Baron Browning and Jonathon Cooper come off the field.
The team also announced that they had elevated quarterback Ben DiNucci for Sunday’s game against the Patriots. DiNucci is not expected to be active for Sunday’s game and will likely be on the inactive list prior to kickoff.
Russell Wilson and Jarrett Stidham will be the two quarterbacks active for Sunday’s game, similar to the other instances the Broncos have elevated DiNucci.
All of the action kicks off Sunday evening at 6:15 p.m. MT on the NFL Network as the Broncos look to keep their playoff hopes alive.
