Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix was on fire in Sunday’s win against the Atlanta Falcons. He had a career-high four-touchdown day, 307 yards passing, zero interceptions, and completed 85% of his passes, becoming the first rookie in NFL history to achieve that feat. The film is even more impressive.

Denver Broncos Film Room vs. Atlanta Falcons: Bo Nix shreds ATL

The Denver Broncos offense put up 400 yards of offense in Sunday’s win against the Atlanta Falcons, with Bo Nix accounting for 307 yards through the air, four touchdowns, and a ridiculous efficiency rate of 28-of-33 passing.

Nix continues to showcase growth on a weekly basis and his level of comfortability against the Falcons was something that stood out tangibly, and his confidence continued to build because of it.

Let’s talk about this play right here. Nix throws his best pass of the season to rookie Devaughn Vele over the top of two defenders and in between two safeties for a 33-yard gain. This was a big moment for the offense because it was an end-of-half scenario, and they needed to come away with points because the Falcons were going to get the ball to start the second half.

Nix has a clean pocket here and sees Vele come free inside behind the nickel defender and the linebacker while Jessie Bates III tries to climb over. For having played 10 years of college football (only real ones understand this context), Nix made Bates look silly.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton applauded Nix’s growth.

He’s extremely accurate, but the windows are just quicker [and] faster in our league,” Payton said. “They’re open for a shorter period of time. I think that’s one example of many, but one example where, ‘Does he make that throw Week 1 or Week 2?’ I don’t know, but certainly we’re all getting a chance to see growth as it plays out week by week.”
