After Week 14 around the NFL, the Denver Broncos are one step closer to winning the AFC West. With the Kansas City Chiefs losing on Sunday Night Football, their nine-year reign as the AFC West division title holders is officially over, and it will all boil down to the Broncos and Chargers winning it.

The Broncos improved to 11-2 on Sunday after beating the Las Vegas Raiders, giving them a 7-2 conference record and 10th straight win. On Monday Night, the Los Angeles Chargers will take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Los Angeles is 8-4, and a loss by them on Monday Night Football would give the Broncos a three-game lead in the division with four games remaining, including a Week 18 head-to-head matchup.

Here’s how the AFC stacks up after Week 14, minus MNF. *

1.) Denver Broncos (11-2)

2.) New England Patriots (11-2)

3.) Jacksonville Jaguars (9-4)

4.) Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6)

5.) Buffalo Bills (9-4)

6.) Los Angeles Chargers (8-4) *

7.) Houston Texans (8-5)

The outside of the AFC looks really interesting right now.

The Indianapolis Colts dropped to the 8th spot in the conference after they lost on Sunday, and they also lost Daniel Jones to a season-ending Achilles injury, which doesn’t help them as they face a brutal end-of-season stretch in their final four games.

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are in the 9th spot after losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, sitting at a 6-7 record.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are in the 10th spot with a 6-7 record, and their 3-5 conference record puts their playoff chances on life support.

We’ll see what the AFC playoff picture looks like following the conclusion of tonight’s Chargers-Eagles matchup on Monday Night.
