The Denver Broncos were on the practice field on Tuesday for their first practice ahead of Saturday’s NFL Divisional playoff matchup against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Denver’s energy and focus were exactly where they needed to be.

Denver Broncos locked in ahead of Saturday’s playoff matchup vs. Buffalo Bills

Every little detail matters this week as the Denver Broncos prepare for Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. Last year, the Bills ended the Broncos’ playoff hopes in the wild card round, where it was close until the third quarter.

A year later, this Broncos team is a little bit older, a little bit wiser, and hungrier than they’ve been before. With the NFL Divisional Playoff logo painted on the practice field, Denver had a calm, cool, focused, and collected energy as they took the field for Tuesday’s practice.

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw was back on the practice field, and is tracking towards being ready to go on Saturday. Denver’s loss in the playoffs last year was a big reason head coach Sean Payton and general manager George Paton went after Greenlaw and Talanoa Hufanga, who they felt could be difference-makers in games like Saturday’s against the caliber of team the Bills possess.

Joining Greenlaw on the practice field were tight end Lucas Krull and linebacker Drew Sanders, whose 21-day practice windows officially opened. Running back J.K. Dobbins was not on the practice field or side field, despite rumblings he may be close to returning.

If Denver moves on to the AFC Championship, we’ll see if that changes things for Dobbins. Safety Brandon Jones was on the side field briefly, before he ended up going inside the building. 9NEWS’ Mike Klis reported today that Jones did in fact have surgery on the torn pectoral muscle he suffered in the first half of Denver’s win vs. the Green Bay Packers. Klis mentioned there could be an outside shot Jones could be ready for Super Bowl 60 if the Broncos make it, but for now, Denver’s comfortable with Hufanga and P.J. Locke at safety.

Saturday’s game will require the Broncos’ best effort yet, and Payton is banking on having his team ready for the moment.
