Can Bo Nix upset Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills? – Ryan.
They absolutely can. This will be the toughest challenge for this Broncos team this year, and the Bills are very well-balanced. Offensively, Josh Allen is the machine that keeps them running,g and he’s a multi-dynamic threat with his arm and his legs, so that will be tough in and of itself. Denver’s locker room has embraced the ‘Young and Hungry’ mentality, and as we know, anything can happen in the playoffs.
It’s going to require the Broncos’ best effort in all three phases, but they very much can upset the Bills.
Except for the Baltimore game, the rest of the Broncos’ losses were by one score. In your opinion, can the Broncos stay close with Buffalo to pull off the upset? – Ed Helinski on Twitter.
Great question, Ed. If the Broncos can keep this game within one score, they’ve got a great chance to upset Buffalo. Every game this season has been one score and there have been a few games the Broncos held a lead in games they lost by one score.
Denver’s room for error on Sunday is much smaller, considering it’s the playoffs, and they’re facing a juggernaut of a team like Buffalo, who has beaten the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs, the two #1 seeds in the post-season this year. They have to keep it close.
Will Sean Payton and the Broncos commit to the run game this weekend? – multiple Broncos fans.
They have to find a way to do that if they want to have the best chance to win. Sunday’s game would be the perfect time for the run game to take off and it all begins with Audric Estime and Jaleel McLaughlin. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to break out some designed plays from Nix, but the Bills’ defense will be tough to try and scramble around due to the athleticism they have at inside linebacker, on the edge, and in the secondary.
More importantly, the Denver Broncos need to have the threat of a run game to keep the Bills defense at bay from being able to dictate the rhythm of the game.
Which Broncos player do you think could have the most underrated impact this week against the Bills? – Jeff on Twitter.
I think so much of how the Bills defense will play the Broncos’ offense will have them focusing on trying to limit Courtland Sutton. For the last handful of weeks, Sutton has been pressed at the line of scrimmage with corners playing a lot of outside leverage with a safety over the top. More than likely Taylor Rapp will play over the top and inside at safety with Christian Benford playing against Sutton.
This means a handful of others will have to step up and easy answers will be Marvin Mims or Devaughn Vele, but I strongly believe this game on Sunday will be the Troy Franklin game. Payton and his offense have been bringing him along in various roles this season, and it’s continuing to evolve. Franklin will be the wildcard prediction from me, so keep an eye on him.
