With the way Bo Nix has evolved, especially in the mental aspects of the game, do you see him actually upsetting Jayden Daniels for either offensive rookie of the year or rookie of the year by season’s end? Bo’s trajectory seems to suggest that he might be able to do it. – @newtype_jk47 on Twitter.
Great question here. Early on in the season it looked like it was Jayden Daniels award, but Bo’s been stacking and the amount of growth he’s showcased over the course of the season should be something that puts him in the conversation. Right now, Nix has 15 total touchdowns this season compared to Daniels 13. Both players are putting together impressive rookie seasons when nobody in the national media really had either option as the before-season favorites.
The Commanders are likely in for the NFC Playoffs, and if the Broncos can maintain their spot as the 7th seed and get into the AFC Playoffs, there will be a valid case for Nix.
Should the Broncos consider Sunday’s loss to Kansas City a moral victory or a bitter loss because of a crack in field goal formation which prevented a huge win of the season? – Ed Helinski on Twitter.
Unfortunately there are no moral victories in the NFL. Sunday’s loss was a true gut punch, and it hurt — players in the locker room were devasted after the game, but they also showed an eagerness to get the taste out of their mouths, which will have to wait until this upcoming Sunday.
Denver showed that they can compete with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs and that they have the team that can do it. More importantly, I think they showed that they have a quarterback that can do it in Bo Nix. Losing the way they did is going to sting, but they have every opportunity in front of them to use this loss as fuel for the rest of the season.
Is this season already a success, with Bo Nix proving he’s our franchise quarterback? – DMarq on Twitter.
I think, in some capacity, to answer your question, yes. This season has always been about trying to get Nix enough reps to see what you have in him, and he’s exceeded expectations. He’s demonstrated growth on a weekly basis without ever having moments of regression, which is huge.
Denver as a whole has already exceeded expectations by matching their expected win total this year, and they have seven games remaining to do even more damage. I think the Broncos are heading in the right direction, and if they are somehow able to make the playoffs this season, even as a wildcard, this year will be a huge momentum builder for them going forward.
