It was another scorcher of a day on Wednesday as the Denver Broncos tackled the second day of mandatory minicamp. For Sean Payton’s team, the emphasis was focused on red zone and the two-minute drill as Bo Nix had himself a sharp day.
Denver Broncos Day 2 Minicamp Recap
Not only did we see Bo Nix look sharp during the second day of mandatory minicamp, but we also had our first look at new running back J.K. Dobbins.
It wasn’t a long look as Dobbins spent Wednesday acclimating himself to the altitude, spending the majority of practice conditioning and running. He participated in the Broncos team stretch, but did not participate in the individual or team period sessions during his first day.

Let’s get into the notes from Wednesday’s practice.
Denver began with 7-on-7, which some of us in the media have now branded it as the Bandy session. Nix’s only series saw him connect with Michael Bandy on one play, where he dove and made an incredible play to haul it in. Nix capped off his series by finding Courtland Sutton for a touchdown.
In a later team period, Nix threw a laser to rookie tight end Caleb Lohner for an impressive gain before finding rookie receiver Pat Bryant for a touchdown. Bryant would also go on to catch another touchdown, this time from Jarrett Stidham in the same period.
In Denver’s third team period of the day, Nix found both Trent Sherfield and Marvin Mims for touchdowns.
Throughout the day, pass rushers Dondrea Tillman and Que Robinson both shined consistently defensively, generating pressure on Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger. Several of their pressures would have been sacks in a real game situation.
Jonathon Cooper had several flashy plays on the day as well, blowing up several plays behind the line of scrimmage. Zach Allen also had a few plays on the day where he got into the backfield quickly, which would have had a negative outcome for the offense in a real game situation.
