Denver Broncos begin offseason program today
Bo Nix, Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin, and a handful of other players are reporting today for the start of the Denver Broncos voluntary offseason program, which comes three days before Thursday’s NFL Draft.
Nix soaked up the Nuggets’ Game 1 win on Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers. After helping lead the Broncos to a 10-7 record and the team’s first playoff appearance in nearly ten years, he’ll be present today for the start of their offseason conditioning program.

This phase of the program won’t feature any on-field work as the team begins Phase One. Broncos players will be allowed to participate in meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation. Players who suffered season-ending injuries last year or underwent surgery in the offseason have already been at the team facility to undergo treatment and rehab with Beau Lowery and the team’s medical staff.
Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program. On-field workouts may include individual or group instruction and drills, as well as “perfect play drills,” and drills and plays with offensive players lining up across from offensive players and defensive players lining up across from defensive players, conducted at a walk-through pace. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.
Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program. Teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity, or “OTAs”. No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.
Denver will hold OTAs on May 27-28, and June 3-5 before holding mandatory minicamp on June 10-12.
