The Denver Broncos are trending toward getting their starting safety back on Sunday for an AFC West matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Denver Broncos OG Ben Powers returns, Brandon Jones upgrades to full participation

The Denver Broncos were back on the practice field on Thursday as they gear up for their final practice on Friday prior to heading to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders on Sunday.

After missing Wednesday’s practice and working on the side field, Broncos left guard Ben Powers (shoulder) returned to practice and was a limited participant. Friday’s practice will be a key factor in determining whether or not he’ll play on Sunday against the Raiders.

On the chance that Powers is unable to go on Sunday, keep an eye on offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton or Alex Forsyth as options to fill in for him. During training camp, Forsyth rotated in at center and guard for reps and has experience there, as does Throckmorton at guard.

Safety Brandon Jones (abdomen) was limited all last week and missed Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. He was a limited participant on Wednesday, but he upgraded to full participation on Thursday. This is a great sign and indicator that Jones will make his return to the starting lineup at safety on Sunday, barring any setback.

Everybody else listed on the team’s injury report was a full participant. This includes defensive end Zach Allen (NIR – Rest), safety P.J. Locke (thumb), wide receiver Josh Reynolds (hand), and linebacker Drew Sanders (Achilles).

There is a chance the team brings Reynolds back onto the active roster this week for Sunday’s game against the Raiders, but they’ll have to make a procedural roster move to create space on the 53.
