The Denver Broncos have made a couple of procedural roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

After suffering an injury during Thursday’s practice and missing Friday’s practice, the Broncos placed tight end Lucas Krull on short-term injured reserve.

Krull, according to 9News’ Mike Klis, suffered a cracked bone in his foot.

After placing Krull on IR, the Broncos promoted inside linebacker Garret Wallow to the active roster. Wallow has been elevated three times this season from the practice squad to the gameday roster and has played an impact role on special teams for Darren Rizzi.

Wallow adds depth to Denver’s linebacker room that currently features Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad as the starters with Dre Greenlaw’s injury and him being on IR. Linebacker Drew Sanders is still on short-term IR after suffering a foot injury in training camp.

Behind Singleton and Strnad, undrafted rookie Karene Reid is the only other linebacker on the active roster. Wallow now joins that group and will likely stay in his special teams role while on the active roster.

In terms of the tight end position, the Broncos right now have Adam Trautman, Evan Engram, and Nate Adkins as the three names on the active roster, with Krull’s injury landing him on IR. From a depth standpoint, Denver has rookie Caleb Lohner and Patrick Murtagh on the practice squad as potential gameday elevation options in the event of any injury at the position.
