The Denver Broncos will be represented in the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl games, with three players voted in as starters. Which players made it, and which players are alternates?
Denver Broncos have three players named as Pro Bowl starters
Patrick Surtain II and Marvin Mims represented the Denver Broncos in last year’s Pro Bowl games, and for the second consecutive season, they’ll do it once again. Surtain, Mims, and outside linebacker Nik Bonitto were all voted in as starters for the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl games, as it was announced on Thursday morning on Good Morning Football.
Surtain and Houston Texans cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. will be the starters for the AFC at the position. Mims makes it in once again as the AFC’s return specialist, and Bonitto will start opposite T.J. Watt at outside linebacker.
Surtain has put together a season worthy of Defensive Player of the Year consideration. He’s allowed 33 catches on 54 targets, snagging four interceptions, allowing only one touchdown, and forcing quarterbacks to have a passer rating of 56.0 when looking his way, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. Mims has 408 return yards this season, averaging 15.7 yards per punt return, surpassing last year’s numbers that had him selected as an All-Pro and to the Pro Bowl games. Bonitto has been on a tear this season, racking up 11.5 sacks, 14 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception, two defensive touchdowns, and 22 quarterback hits on 34 pressures.
These three players deserve the honor, and there are several Broncos players who were snubbed in voting.
Defensive end Zach Allen is perhaps one of the biggest snubs for the Broncos and in the NFL for Pro Bowl voting. Allen was listed as a fourth alternate.
Here is the full list of Broncos alternates for the Pro Bowl games:
First:
- Offensive guard Quinn Meinerz and long snapper Mitchell Fraboni.
Third:
- Offensive tackle Garett Bolles and kicker Wil Lutz.
Fourth:
- Quarterback Bo Nix, defensive end Zach Allen, and fullback Michael Burton.
Fifth:
- Safety Brandon Jones.
Pro Bowl honors are always a fun recognition and Denver’s selected starters are deserving of it. It will be interesting to see how many Broncos receive All-Pro votes, which carry more weight than Pro Bowl appearances in this new era of football.
It would be a safe assumption to think Surtain, Mims, Bonitto, and Allen that will likely be given All-Pro recognition when it’s all said and done for what they’ve accomplished this season.
One thing is clear, though, about the Pro Bowl voting — more people are paying attention to the Denver Broncos.
