The Denver Broncos put their finishing touches on game prep during Friday’s practice as they prepare to head to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers. One Broncos player wasn’t spotted during Friday’s media viewing portion of practice.
Denver Broncos RB questionable for Sunday’s game
After having every player fully available to participate during Thursday’s practice, the Broncos had one player suddenly miss Friday’s final practice. Running back Samaje Perine wasn’t spotted during the media viewing portion of Friday’s practice.
Perine has emerged as one of head coach Sean Payton’s most reliable options as a pass-catching running back. So far this season, Perine has 35 catches on 39 targets for 342 yards receiving and an average of 9.8 yards per reception.
His reliability in pass protection on third-down situations has been crucial, and his contributions in the receiving game have helped the Broncos significantly this season.
Perine missed Friday’s practice with a knee injury designation and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
When asked about Perine missing practice or his status, Payton answered “Nothing right now,” in regards to a potential status update.
If Perine is unable to go on Sunday, keep an eye on practice squad running back Tyler Badie receiving a potential practice squad gameday elevation.
Another name to watch out for is Dwayne Washington, who contributes significantly to the Broncos on special teams. He also has prior experience playing under Payton in New Orleans.
Broncos injury report and game status updates vs. Los Angeles Chargers
With Perine being listed as the only player questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chargers, everybody else listed on the injury report this week has no game status designation and are all expected to play.
