The Denver Broncos made a handful of moves on Sunday that took care of some of the in-house players the team had that were set to become unrestricted free agents. With Davis Webb’s promotion to offensive coordinator, he and Sean Payton appear to be keeping the quarterback room the same after they re-signed Sam Ehlinger late on Sunday evening.

Denver Broncos re-sign QB Sam Ehlinger to one-year deal

Whenever the Denver Broncos take the field in June for on-field football activities, they’ll have Bo Nix, Jarrett Stidham, and Sam Ehlinger returning as the quarterback trio for the team, barring any type of move for Stidham by another team.

On Sunday night, the Broncos re-signed quarterback Sam Ehlinger to a one-year deal, as first reported by Jordan Schultz. Ehlinger returns on a $2M deal.

Last season, various teams around the league, including the Indianapolis Colts, had interest in Ehlinger for their 53-man roster due to injuries, but Ehlinger chose to stay in Denver with Webb, Payton, Nix, and Stidham.

He was the team’s third emergency quarterback all of last season. We’ll see if he’s in line to compete for a backup job with Stidham who is entering the final year of his deal with Denver.
