The Denver Broncos’ unofficial depth chart came out ahead of Sunday’s Week 1 opener against the Titans, and there aren’t many surprises or questions if things play out the way the depth chart is listed.
Offensively, the RB depth chart showcases J.K. Dobbins as the first back in order, followed by rookie RJ Harvey, Tyler Badie, and Jaleel McLaughlin.
Last week, Sean Payton said it would be difficult for four backs to get to the gameday roster, but special teams factors into the equation. While it seems like Dobbins, Harvey, and Badie will be the three backs who get touches, Jaleel McLaughlin appears to be the other returner next to All-Pro Marvin Mims on kick return, which indicates all four backs should be active, but that could change.
Behind McLaughlin on kick return, Badie is listed, so in the event McLaughlin was one of the Broncos’ gameday inactives, it would be Badie getting those looks next to Mims.
Mims is also listed as one of the first receivers on the depth chart opposite of Courtland Sutton and is the primary kick and punt returner, with Riley Moss serving as the backup punt return option.
On the offensive line, Frank Crum appears to be the backup to Mike McGlinchey at right tackle, and veteran Matt Peart is the backup listed at left tackle behind Garett Bolles. After primarily playing right tackle last year, Alex Palczewski now looks to be listed as a backup guard at both left and right spots behind Ben Powers and Quinn Meinerz.
Defensively, Jahdae Barron is listed behind Ja’Quan McMillian at the nickel position. While McMillian has been the expected starter, Barron should see some time on the field depending on the opponent and personnel needed. Barron is also listed as the backup to Patrick Surtain II.
