The Denver Broncos took the field on Wednesday for the first time since Sunday’s win against the Green Bay Packers. With a big stakes AFC matchup on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Broncos appear to be healthy for the most part based on Wednesday’s practice attendance.
Denver Broncos rookies RJ Harvey, Pat Bryant both at Wednesday’s practice
There were some rumblings during Sunday’s game that RJ Harvey had a rib injury and was questionable to return, according to the CBS broadcast, but Harvey was front and center for Wednesday’s practice.
Denver’s official injury report will be released shortly, and it’s possible he’ll be on there, but what’s important is that he was at practice and was actively participating during team stretch and individual period.
Rookie wide receiver Pat Bryant, who missed practice all of last week and Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers, was back on the field.
Left guard Ben Powers was also present for the second consecutive week, which indicates his return could come this week against Jacksonville.
The only player who was not in attendance was linebacker Justin Strnad, who left Sunday’s win with a lower leg injury and did not return. That leaves Denver’s linebacker depth with Alex Singleton, Dre Greenlaw, and Jordan Turner on the active roster, as it currently stands, but help could be on the way.
Undrafted rookie linebacker Karene Reid, who landed on injured reserve after Week 10 with a hamstring injury, was back on the field for the first time, opening his 21-day window to potentially come off of IR.
Bo Nix named FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week
It was announced during Wednesday’s practice that Bo Nix was named one of the FedEx Air & Ground Players of the Week after his four-touchdown performance on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
Nix tied his career-high in passing touchdowns in a game, marking the fourth time in his young career that he’s thrown for four touchdowns in a single game.
He completed 23-of-34 passes for 302 yards, his four touchdowns, and a passer rating of 134.7. This was his first nomination for the award this season, which also contributed a $2000 donation to Denver’s local food bank, Food Bank of the Rockies, which is a part of Feeding America’s network.
Nix is playing with a new level of confidence coming out of the bye week as Denver hopes to lock up the AFC West with a win on Sunday, combined with a hopeful Los Angeles Chargers loss against the Dallas Cowboys.
