DENVER, CO — The Denver Broncos are set to kick off Week 5 against the New York Jets in just under 90 minutes. Which players were ruled as gameday inactives prior to kickoff?
Denver Broncos announce inactives vs. New York Jets
With the Denver Broncos set to get several players back from injury today against the New York Jets, which players on the active roster were ruled inactive?
Broncos RB Javonte Williams inactive vs. Jets
Prior to Sunday’s game against the Jets, Broncos running back Javonte Williams was questionable coming into today’s matchup. He will not play this afternoon.
Williams suffered a hip flexor last Sunday in the Broncos win against the Chicago Bears and did not return. He did not participate during Wednesday’s practice but gradually did more as the week progressed, upgrading to limited on Thursday, and was a full participant in Friday’s practice.
Williams did an on-field workout prior to Sunday’s game with various Broncos’ staffers observing him, but with Denver having a short turnaround for Thursday Night Football, it appears that holding him out until then could be the best decision for him.
Both Samaje Perine and undrafted rookie free agent Jaleel McLaughlin are expected to get plenty of run.
Lloyd Cushenberry and Mike Purcell will play
Both center Lloyd Cushenberry and defensive tackle Mike Purcell were limited participants all week at practice and were questionable coming into today’s game against New York.
Cushenberry (quad) will play today and Purcell (ribs) is expected back after missing last week’s game against the Bears.
