The Denver Broncos have released their list of inactives for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Who will the Broncos be without on Sunday?
Denver Broncos inactives vs. Chicago Bears
Coming into Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, the Denver Broncos were already coming into Week 4 without several of their key players.
Prior to Sunday’s inactive list, the Broncos were going to be without defensive tackle Mike Purcell, inside linebacker Josey Jewell, and outside linebacker Frank Clark.
Purcell suffered a rib injury last Sunday in the team’s blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins and did not participate in practice all week.
Jewell suffered a groin/hip injury during the first quarter last week against Miami and did not participate in practice all week.
Clark has missed three consecutive games after suffering a hip/groin injury after Week 1, and he did not participate in practice this week.
Denver Broncos official inactives vs. Chicago Bears
After initially being listed as questionable, Broncos All-Pro safety Justin Simmons will not play on Sunday against the Bears. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday but did not participate on Friday.
With Denver set to take on the New York Jets next Sunday, then facing a short turnaround for Thursday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs, Simmons missing today’s game might have been the best move to give him more of a chance to fully heal from a groin/hip issue that’s been bothering him since training camp.
