The Denver Broncos were back on the field on Tuesday for the start of Week 2 of OTAs. They made one roster move and paired it with a corresponding move to keep the roster at 90 players.

Denver Broncos sign TE Caden Prieskorn

Right now the Denver Broncos roster at tight end features several key players who are expected to have big roles this upcoming year. Evan Engram will be the top target, while veteran Adam Trautman will likely remain in the mix when Denver goes into 12 and 13-personnel. Caleb Lohner, Nate Adkins, and Lucas Krull are three names Broncos fans have their eyes on, but Denver added another name to the mix on Tuesday — Caden Prieskorn.

Prieskorn is 6’5, 255 pounds, and initially signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted rookie free agent following the NFL Draft. He was waived by them on May 12, 2025.

He played five years of college football — three years at Memphis and two years at Mississippi.

His more recent body of work at Mississippi in 2024 saw him catch 27 passes in 13 games for 401 yards and three touchdowns. Prieskorn’s size and intangibles are something that were intriguing to the Broncos, who are looking to have extensive competition across the board at tight end for arguably the third or fourth spot at that position, while also looking to identify players who could become practice squad candidates.

Prieskorn replaces Cole Fotheringham, who was waived on Tuesday with an injury settlement to make room for the undrafted rookie. Fotheringham initially impressed Broncos coaches during a tryout at rookie minicamp a few weeks ago, and he earned himself an invite to OTAs and minicamp.

When media attended OTAs on Thursday of last week, Fotheringham was one of the several players not spotted at practice — with the injury settlement, we now know the reason why.

Media will likely be allowed to see Thursday’s practice this week.
