The Denver Broncos were on the practice field on Tuesday for the only time us in the media will be able to see them. They’ll have a walkthrough on Wednesday before they depart for Kansas City, but it’s looking more and more likely that they’ll be without several players.

Denver Broncos could be down a few key players vs. Kansas City Chiefs

On Monday, the Denver Broncos released an estimated injury report had they practiced, and a handful of key players were on the list as non-participants.

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw, center Luke Wattenberg, wide receiver Pat Bryant, and tight end Nate Adkins were listed on that report as DNPs. As we watched Tuesday’s practice, Greenlaw, Wattenberg, Bryant, Adkins, and safety Delarrin Turner-Yell were the only players we didn’t spot as the team took the field.

Everybody else was present and accounted for, including linebacker Justin Strnad, who missed all of last week. In the event Greenlaw can’t go, which it’s seemingly trending that way for him, Wattenberg, and Adkins, having Strnad back in the mix at linebacker is huge for the defense.

That would likely mean Alex Singleton and Strnad start, while Jordan Turner serves as the depth option. Depending on what takes place over the next 24 to 48 hours, the Broncos could make a roster move, potentially with Adkins, which would open up a spot, but where would it go?

Marcedes Lewis could be elevated to the active roster again if Adkins does land on IR after Sunday’s non-contact injury knocked him out of the game. Linebacker Karene Reid’s 21-day window was activated last week, and he could also be brought onto the active roster.

Practice squad linebacker Levelle Bailey could be elevated for a gameday stint as well.

If Wattenberg can’t go, Alex Forsyth would likely get his first start of the season on Thursday.

Denver will release their final injury report on Wednesday before they depart for Kansas City.
