Ahead of Sunday’s home game against the Carolina Panthers, the Denver Broncos were back on the practice field for the first time since they played the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football. What does the team’s injury report look like heading into Week 8 of the regular season?

Denver Broncos will face Bryce Young on Sunday vs. Panthers

The Denver Broncos wrapped up Wednesday’s first official practice of the week as the team prepares for their matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Heading into the week, the team would have likely prepared for Panthers veteran QB Andy Dalton, but it will be former No.1 overall pick Bryce Young who gets the start on Sunday, according to their head coach Dave Canales.

Dalton was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday and has a sprained thumb on his right hand. Luckily, he and his family are okay. While Young will get the start, the Broncos will more than likely gameplan for both QBs in the event Dalton does play.

As he continues to work his way through the NFL’s concussion protocol, cornerback Patrick Surtain II was back on the field on Wednesday for practice, which is a promising sign regarding his potential status on Sunday. Safety P.J. Locke (thumb), offensive tackles Mike McGlinchey (knee) and Alex Palczewski (ankle) were all limited participants.

Safety Delarrin Turner-Yell, wide receiver Josh Reynolds, and running back Tyler Badie were all spotted on the team’s side field. Turner-Yell continues to make good progress as he works his way back from the ACL injury he suffered late last season. Reynolds is on short-term injured reserve and is staying in shape while he sits out the next three weeks after he had finger surgery. Badie made his return to the field for the first time since suffering a scary injury in the Broncos Week 3 road game against the New York Jets.
