The Denver Broncos wrapped up Wednesday’s practice ahead of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers and they saw two offensive skillplayers return to the practice field after being previously injured.
Denver Broncos WR Pat Bryant, TE Nate Adkins return to practice
It was great to see Pat Bryant back on the field on Wednesday, running routes and catching passes from Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Two weeks ago, Bryant suffered a scary injury in Denver’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and was carted off on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital in an ambulance.
Luckily, he was okay. He immediately entered the NFL’s concussion protocol and did not participate in practice or play in last week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. His being back on the field today was a positive step in the right direction as he still works his way through protocol.
He was a limited participant, as was tight end Nate Adkins, who also suffered an injury against the Jaguars.
Adkins was a limited participant but was back on the field.
Left guard Ben Powers (biceps) and linebacker Karene Reid (hamstring) were full participants.
The only player who did not participate in practice today was linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who continues to battle a hamstring injury that he suffered against Jacksonville. Denver’s hope is that Greenlaw will be able to return for their divisional round playoff game, if Denver takes care of business and wins on Sunday to clinch the No. 1 overall seed.
Defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers (hip) was the only other player listed on the report on Wednesday, and he was a limited participant, but should be fine for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
Denver’s in a good spot, health-wise, going into Week 18, and the hope is that they can maintain and improve on that throughout the NFL Playoffs.
