The Denver Broncos are set to kick things off in their Week 2 home opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Which Broncos players are listed as inactive for today’s game?

Denver Broncos inactives vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Broncos have released their list of inactive players for today’s game against the Steelers, which is set to kick off here at 2:25 p.m. MT.

Quarterback Zach Wilson, running back Blake Watson, defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike, offensive tackle Frank Crum, tight end Lucas Krull, cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, and wide receiver Devaughn Vele are all inactive.

Wilson will be the team’s emergency quarterback, even if he’s listed as inactive. Uwazurike, Watson, Crum, Krull, and Abrams-Draine were all inactive for Denver’s Week 1 opener against the Seattle Seahawks.

Vele was ruled out on Friday with a rib injury that held him out of practice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The Broncos elevated wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey and running back Tyler Badie as their two standard gameday elevations. Both players will revert back to the practice squad on Monday following the conclusion of today’s game.

All signs point to rookie wide receiver Troy Franklin making his official NFL debut today. He and Marvin Mims speed dynamic could be helpful for Bo Nix and the Broncos offense as they will need to find a way to open things up downfield. The bigger challenge is the Steelers pass rush featuring T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward, and Alex Highsmith.

Former Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson will not play for the Steelers today against his former team but will instead be their emergency QB3 in the event they need him. Justin Fields will get the start for the Steelers, and his backup will be Kyle Allen.

Kickoff is slated for 2:25 p.m. MT on CBS locally or on the radio, where you can catch Dave Logan, Rick Lewis, and Susie Wargin on the call for KOA.
