In two year’s time, Legend High School (Colorado Springs) product Derrick White has gone from a relatively unknown D-II star to one of the hottest names in NBA Draft circles. Now he’s making such waves in basketball circles that NBA teams are posting his pre-draft workout interviews to their social media.
White had a workout with the Indiana Pacers on Monday and was interviewed by team media afterward. As you can see, he’s handling himself just as well off the court as he did on the court for the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and CU-Boulder.

Clearly, White learned how to handle media questions during his time at CU – a testament to both Buffs head coach Tad Boyle and the CU Sports Information Department.
In the interview, White talks about the humbling experience starting his collegiate career at D-II UCCS and the hard work it took to have such a successful season in Boulder this past year.
After a very successful NBA Combine and strong play in showcase tournaments, White is now being projected as high as the No. 31 pick in the draft.
Lottery teams will learn their fate on Tuesday night with the annual NBA Draft Lottery. The 2017 NBA Draft itself is June 22.
