The Colorado Eagles continued their 2017 success on Friday and Saturday night with a pair of victories over the Allen Americans in the second round of the ECHL playoffs. Colorado has now won six games in a row in the playoffs, their longest winning streak since they won a franchise-record 17-games from January to March .
In the first two games of the ECHL Mountain Division Finals, Colorado has outscored Allen 9-3 thanks to a pair of two-goal games. On Friday night defenseman Jake Marto netted two goals in a 4-1 victory at the Allen Event Center.
On Saturday, forward Alex Belzile had a pair of goal himself en route to another three-goal victory. Goaltender Lukas Hafner stopped 29 of Allen’s 31 shots on goal, as the Eagles defeated the Americans 5-2.
The Eagles return home to face the Allen Americans in Game 3 on Wednesday, May 3 at 7:05 p.m. MDT at the Budweiser Events Center. The winner of the series will face the winner of Toledo vs. Fort Wayne in the Western Conference Finals.
