The Anaheim Ducks selected Troy Terry a forward out of Highlands Ranch, Colo. on Day 2 of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Terry was selected in round 5 (148th overall).
As a kid it took one Colorado Avalanche game on TV and Terry was hooked to hockey for life. Now 17 years old, his NHL career already has a destination, before he even begins university.

Terry is entering his freshman season at DU in 2015-16. He spent the 2014-15 season with USA Hockey’s national U18 Team. IN 66 games, Terry had 19 goals and 25 assists.
He won Gold with Team USA at the 2015 IIHF World U18 Championships in Switzerland and captured Bronze at last summer’s U18 Junior World Cup.
Terry becomes the 102nd DU player to be drafted all-time, which is no small feat.
Furthermore, Current members of the Pioneers to have been previously drafted into the NHL include sophomore forward Danton Heinen (Boston), junior defenseman Will Butcher (Colorado) and goalie Evan Cowley (Florida) as well as senior forward Quentin Shore (Ottawa).
With the Denver Pioneers finishing their 2014-15 season with a record of 24-14-2 and advancing to the Elite Eight, they will be looking to take it a step further and reach the Frozen Four in the 2015-16 season. If his draft stock is any indication, the incoming freshman Terry will certainly add to the Pioneers’ chances.
