University of Colorado freshman Madie Boreman just wanted to prove she could keep pace in the Pac-12. Now, she’s the runner-up in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase and the owner of an All-America designation and a U.S. Juniors record.
Boreman finished second in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend, with a time of 9:46.48, bettering a personal record set in the prelims by an astounding 3.52 seconds.
She spoke with Pac-12 Network after the race to share her enthusiasm and excitement at surpassing what she thought she would or could have done this year.
The CU women finished 12th overall in this year’s team finals.
