Since joining in Colin Kaepernick’s protest of the National Anthem last Thursday, Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall has lost two endorsement deals, faced harsh criticism from fans on Twitter and had one of his shirts burned outside the team facility.
But it’s not all bad news.
Russell Simmons, music mogul and cofounder of Def Jam, has stepped to the plate, offering Marshall a RushCard endorsement.

This afternoon, Simmons posted that he and Marshall have spoken and that they are currently working out a deal, calling Marshall an “american hero/athlete.”
He continues by saying, “I am eternally grateful for his and other athletes courage in standing up against injustice.”

We’ll see if any other companies step up to endorse Marshall and his protest, too.
