Colorado State – Wyoming is one of the greatest college football rivalries in the nation. In fact, dating back to 1899, it’s the longest-running rivalry west of the Mississippi River, with CSU holding the 58-45-5 advantage. Why is there a discrepancy in whether or not this is the 108th or 109th Border War? We give you that first game story and the beginning of a rivalry, all the way back in 1899.
This week, much like last week, is another trophy game for Colorado State and head coach Mike Bobo, who were blown out by the Air Force Falcons last Saturday at home, 45-28. The podcast kicks off with Bobo’s words to his team in the locker room after the blowout, proving how important he takes his job and winning games.
This Saturday, though, is Rams – Cowboys in Laramie, Wyoming, with a stellar defense waiting for Bobo’s offense north of the border. In the second half of the podcast, we break down all the playmakers for Wyoming and how Colorado State can stop them, what they’ll have to do and what they’ll look for. And then, we switch sides of the ball, as the Rams strength and Wyoming’s strength will go head to head; CSU’s O versus Wyoming’s D should be an awesome sight, indeed.
We also look at Wyoming’s spectacular special teams, which the Rams better be prepared for or they could lose due to that phase of the game.
