The Denver Nuggets finished off their first round by selecting Juan Hernangomez with the 15th-overall pick and Malik Beasley with the 19th-overall pick. Like their first selection, Jamal Murray, both players bring the Nuggets the one thing they needed more than anything: shooting.
And just like they did with Murray, Nuggets Nation was ecstatic to see Hernangomez and Beasley on their way to the Mile High City.
Here’s some of the reaction to the Hernangomez pick …
Juancho Hernangomez: "I love this suit. I never wore a bow before, but I love it." #DraftStyle pic.twitter.com/TNF5A4e6Ux

So more shooting for the #Nuggets who are quickly making a real statement that they want to improve there

Love Hernangomez to Denver. They continue to kill it.

So… Who are they trading him to and what are they getting in return? https://t.co/yMjDqFqjet

Juan Hernangomez is a solid prospect, not well known be the general public. Impressed the #Nuggets in his workout

The Nuggets select Spanish forward Juan Hernangomez at 15. I'm a big fan. @kpelton was even higher on him,… https://t.co/qiTLIax0TQ

A Spaniard who plays the 4 seals the Faried's fate. . .

Juan Henangomez sounds like a guy who’s had a wispy mustache since the age of 12. #NBADraft
— J.E. Skeets (@jeskeets) June 24, 2016
Nuggets have made such a commitment to hiring int'l evaluators like they have to justify it by picking #euros
— Mike Evans (@MikeEvans1043) June 24, 2016
Juan Hernangomez was 9th in my projections. Denver got value with international bigs Jokic and Nurkic in 2014 and may have done so again.
— Kevin Pelton (@kpelton) June 24, 2016
So Hernangomez is a 6-9 PF who played in Spain. So projects as a stretch 4. He averaged 9.7 ppg/5.7rpg, shot 35.8 percent from 3-point range

Juancho Heranagomez is going to surprise a lot of more casual fans.
— T.J. McBride (@TJMcBrideNBA) June 24, 2016
Again, #Nuggets putting a huge emphasis on shot-making in this draft. It remains to be seen whether he'll play next season or stay in Spain
— Chris Dempsey (@chrisadempsey) June 24, 2016
That decision has not been made..
— Chris Dempsey (@chrisadempsey) June 24, 2016
The #Nuggets brilliance when it comes to international scouting is a sight to behold. Great pick with Juancho Hernangomez.

And here’s some of the reaction to Beasley’s selection ….
Malik Beasley sounds like Michael Beasley’s cool, older cousin who he only sees twice a year. #NBADraft
— J.E. Skeets (@jeskeets) June 24, 2016
I cannot wait for Summer League. The #Nuggets team is going to be so talented.
— T.J. McBride (@TJMcBrideNBA) June 24, 2016
I like Malik Beasley pick. Denver has a lot of guards now. Setting up something? Just stockpiling? We'll see…
— Timmons (@NateTimmonsCSG) June 24, 2016
Is this lining up for a Gary Harris trade? #Nuggets
