If one team was expected to score two touchdowns within the first minutes of Saturday’s game, it was Michigan. Yet there the Colorado Buffaloes were, celebrating in the end zone thanks to the teamwork of Chidobe Awuzie and Derek McCartney.
The two combined created a play that most fans could only dream of, with a forced fumble and quick run to the end zone. Awuzie timed his tackle perfectly and with McCartney’s fast thinking and even faster feet, the Buffs had reason to celebrate.
Despite the final outcome of the game, a 45-28 Michigan win, the Buffs competed at a level that few were expecting. Fans can only hope these dream plays continue as Colorado heads to Eugene to take on the Oregon Ducks Saturday, Sept. 24.
