For the second time this offseason, a recently fired head coach has decided it is better not to work this season than it is to coach the Nuggets. While the link between Tom Thibodeau and the Nuggets has been speculative at best, according to Peter Vecsey those rumors can officially be put to rest.
Tom Thibodeau has no interest, I'm told, in coaching Pelicans (feels Davis will leave when pact permits), Magic (Skiles on tap) or Nuggets.

Thibodeau joins former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Scott Brooks in deciding to take this season off and wait for a better opportunity next year. The remaining candidates for the Nuggets are Melvin Hunt, Mike D’Antoni and Alvin Gentry, who is still coaching with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA finals.
