This much was clear late last week: Former Denver Broncos running back wants to sign with the Indianapolis Colts and is telling friends it will get done.
As they say, though, it takes two to tango.
A source close to the situation says the Colts have called “three or four” free agent running backs and aren’t so sure Ball’s the one they want to sign, or if they’re even going to sign anyone at all.
It’s no secret a “salty” Ball is mad at the Broncos. His tweets have been cryptic during the games and another source described Ball as being in a “bad mood” while watching the Broncos last Thursday from a popular Denver bar.
That all may explain Ball’s interest in the Colts. He wants to stick it to the Broncos with an AFC contender. Indy’s a likely landing spot because their depth at running back right now is Frank Gore and then not much else.
So will Ball to Indy get done? He’s hoping so; right now the Colts are playing hard to get.
