Jack Drury’s goal gave the team life with 3:33 left in the third. Nathan MacKinnon tied it up with less than a minute and a half remaining to take it to overtime.

Brett Kulak got the game-winner less than four minutes into the extra period from a perfect Martin Necas setup.

“I wish we’d find an easier way; that one was something … there was some moments in the game where we were a little down, but we had enough guys that were upbeat, positive, kept the belief that dragged the other guys into the fight a little bit,” head coach Jared Bednar said. “It wasn’t everyone’s best game, that’s for sure, but that’s what team is all about — you dragging each other into the fight and trying to find a way. It was a struggle, but we got it done.”
