Even though the Colorado Avalanche outshot the Minnesota Wild, they lost Game 3 of the second round in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Nathan MacKinnon was the lone goal scorer, and the Avs struggled to produce grade-A scoring chances.

Head coach Jared Bednar pulled goaltender Scott Wedgewood after allowing three goals, two on the man advantage. He put in Mackenzie Blackwood, who allowed one even-strength goal, and the Wild’s final goal was into an empty net.
“Wedgie (Wedgewood) was playing hard. Maybe he looked a little too aggressive on a couple of those …,” Bednar said. “From what I’ve seen out of Blackwood here recently, a rested guy and a guy that we trust, I felt like it was a good opportunity for us to get him in and see if it sparked our group and if he could maybe close our door the rest of the way.”
