The Denver Broncos wrapped up their second acclimation practice of training camp on Thursday on the eve of fans being able to attend Friday’s practice. Several players stood out on the afternoon.

Broncos Camp Day 2 Recap: Denver Broncos wrap up second acclimation practice

For the second consecutive day of the acclimation period, the Denver Broncos focus was a red zone emphasis. In 7-on-7, Bo Nix had completions to Jaylen Waddle and Lil’Jordan Humphrey, with his connection to Humphrey being a touchdown.

Jarrett Stidham followed it up by finding veteran tight end Adam Trautman for a touchdown several plays later.

The Broncos conducted two team periods, with Nix finding J.K. Dobbins and Evan Engram on a pair of completions.

Humphrey was one of the standouts of the day, going back to his touchdown grab in 7-on-7, but he also caught a pass from Jarrett Stidham in one of Denver’s team periods for what would have been a good gain.

Compared to Day 1, where the offense won the day if we’re keeping score, the Broncos defense won the day in the team period portion of practice.

Zach Allen, Jonathon Cooper, and Nik Bonitto each had moments where they created pressure and chased Nix and Stidham, leading to them throwing the ball away.

Cornerback Sean Fresch Jr. and undrafted corner Brent Austin made some plays on the day, with Fresch Jr. having a few reps in 7-on-7 with good coverage and an interception of Sam Ehlinger. Austin helped conclude today’s practice with a nice pass breakup in coverage against Joseph Manjack.

Broncos news and notes from Day 2

Linebacker Jordan Turner continued to get work done on the team’s side field as he tries to work his way off the non-football injury list. He seems like he’s getting close to a return in the near future.

Tight end Caleb Lohner was not spotted at practice for the second consecutive day, and defensive back Blake Cotton was not spotted after leaving practice yesterday with the training staff.

Fans will be in attendance for training camp beginning on Friday, where the team will likely have more than a few brief team periods as the acclimation portion of training camp has wrapped up.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton was not scheduled to speak to the media today, but was made available after it was announced that he would be inducting Drew Brees into the Pro Football Hall of Fame next week.
