The Denver Broncos have made two roster moves on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s AFC West showdown against the Las Vegas Raiders. They’ve elevated one player from the practice squad to the gameday roster while simultaneously placing a player on injured reserve.

Denver Broncos place Tyler Badie on IR, promote Levelle Bailey to gameday roster

The Denver Broncos placed running back Tyler Badie on injured reserve on Saturday, which will officially hold him out of action for at least four weeks after he suffered a back injury last Sunday in the team’s 10-9 win against the New York Jets.

The four weeks is an initial timeline, and Badie could end up missing more time, but the only thing that matters at this point is that he’s okay and continues to make progress with his recovery. We’ll continue to monitor things as more information becomes available, but Badie’s situation has very much been one where the team is looking out for his best interest, and the general notion is that he’s going to be okay.

Even though the Broncos placed him on injured reserve, freeing up space on the 53-man roster, they did not make a corresponding move to bring somebody from the practice squad to the active roster full-time. Denver did, however, designate inside linebacker Levelle Bailey as their only practice squad to gameday elevation move for Sunday’s game against the Raiders. This will be his second designation after he was also elevated last week against the Jets.

Denver will likely make a move on Monday when it comes to the available active roster space. Rookie running back Audric Estime will be eligible to return off of injured reserve and he’ll likely be designated to return and placed on the active roster after Sunday’s game against the Raiders.

The Broncos’ current running back depth for Sunday will be Javonte Williams, Jaleel McLaughlin, Michael Burton at fullback, and possibly undrafted rookie free agent Blake Watson if he is not on the team’s inactive list tomorrow afternoon.

Kickoff is set for 2:05 p.m. MT on FOX.
