The Denver Broncos will be without a handful of key players in Sunday’s AFC West matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. After not practicing all week, J.K. Dobbins, Patrick Surtain II, Nate Adkins, Jonah Elliss, and Alex Singleton will not play on Sunday.
Dobbins has been battling a foot injury all week that he suffered in last week’s Thursday Night Football win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Last Friday, he was getting a second opinion, but nothing has surfaced from that yet, and he did not land on injured reserve this past week.
However, Dobbins could land on IR on Saturday if the Broncos need to make a roster move. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Dobbins’ injury will have him out for the foreseeable future.
#Broncos RB JK Dobbins will be out on Sunday vs the #Chiefs with a significant foot injury and is believed to be out for the foreseeable future, per me and @TomPelissero.

With Dobbins out, rookie RJ Harvey, Jaleel McLaughlin, and Tyler Badie will likely share the workload out of the backfield.
Surtain is making good progress in his recovery from a pectoral injury suffered against the Dallas Cowboys, but his likely return will be against the Washington Commanders after Denver’s BYE week next week. Kris Abrams-Draine and Riley Moss will anchor down the cornerback spots on the outside this week.
Despite appearing with the team during stretching this week, Nate Adkins did not participate all week either and was ruled out as well. The Broncos could elevate veteran Marcedes Lewis for the third time this week, but that announcement will likely come on Saturday afternoon.
Singleton will miss several weeks as he recovers from surgery after his testicular cancer diagnosis last week. Denver will rely on Justin Strnad and Dre Greenlaw on Sunday, and it’s likely that the Broncos elevate one or both of Jordan Turner and Levelle Bailey off the practice squad.
