Jameer Nelson hit a critical 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter to give the Nuggets life. He also surrendered one on defense in overtime that gave the Raptors a lead for good. Emmanuel Mudiay drew a foul with under 10 seconds to play and hit all three free throws to bring the Nuggets within one. He also forced a shot in the game’s closing seconds that wasn’t even close and the Nuggets fell 113-111 in overtime.
The NBA’s leading scorer, DeMar DeRozan, was held just below his season average of 33.0 points per game, but he hit critical buckets down the stretch to send the game into overtime. He ended the night with 30 points and two steals.
Wilson Chandler had another strong performance off the bench, scoring 25 points and grabbing a clutch rebound that led to Nelson’s 3-pointer. Emmanuel Mudiay also had 25 points, but he also committed a turnover with 33 seconds remaining in overtime trailing by two that was the real dagger in this one.
Denver moves to 4-8 on the season and 1-4 at home. They host Utah on Sunday and then close out their four-game homestand against Chicago on Tuesday.
