The very short NASCAR offseason is often called the “silly season” because of all the drama that can surround teams with driver, crew and sponsors shuffling around. But the folks at Furniture Row Racing appear to be taking this offseason quite seriously.
Less than two months removed from their first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship victory, FRR and driver Martin Truex Jr. are already back on the track in the No. 78 car making runs at Texas Motor Speedway.

The photo, posted by Texas Motor Speedway, shows the 2018 No. 78 Toyota Camry, stripped of its logos — except for the Toyota emblem on the grille and the main Bass Pro Shops logo on the hood.
The caption for the photo reads, “The defending champ heading out for his first run of 2018.”
Truex posted a pair of top-10 finishes at Texas during his 2017 championship season. He finished eighth in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 in April and then a second in the AAA Texas 500 in November. During the playoff race in November, Truex led all drivers with 107 laps led.
The 2018 race season is just about a month away, with the Advance Auto Parts Clash scheduled for Feb. 11.
The Cup season officially kicks off with the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18.
