Fans of the Denver Nuggets can now rest easy. It looks like big man Nikola Jokic is going to be okay.
After undergoing an MRI on Friday, it has been determined that Jokic suffered a left hip flexor strain. The team confirmed that he will miss Saturday’s contest against the Phoenix Suns, and is officially listed as day-to-day.
Initially, the team called the injury a strained left hip. After the game, Jokic underwent X-Rays which all came back negative.
Denver Nuggets sensation Nikola Jokic left in Thursday’s 127-120 win over the Phoenix Suns with 1:47 remaining in the game due to a non-contact injury suffered while guarding Suns guard Devin Booker.

Jokic has easily been the Nuggets’ best player, so it seems as if they’ve dodged a bullet with this one. Still, head Coach Michael Malone said it’s the next man up approach.
“Obviously when one man goes down, it’s an opportunity for the other guys to step up and the quality of our roster is how deep we are.”
With the Nuggets a game ahead of the Portland Trailblazers for 8th place in the Western Conference playoff race, it’s more critical than ever for the other guys to play better. The faster they get Jokic back, the better.
