It was another solid showing from rookie running back Phillip Lindsay against the Oakland Raiders Sunday. The Aurora, CO native led the team in total carries and rushing yards in the victory and also became the first undrafted player in NFL history to record at least 100 yards from scrimmage in each of his two career games.

Lindsay recorded 71 rushing yards and 31 receiving yards in the Week 1 victory over Seattle. The rookie running back from the University of Colorado also scored his first career touchdown against the Seahawks. Lindsay took a screen pass 29 yards to the end zone for Denver’s first touchdown of the year.
In the Week 2 victory over Oakland, Lindsay displayed his explosiveness between the tackles by breaking off a 53-yard run in the first half. The drive ultimately ended in an interception, but Lindsay set the team up with excellent field position.
After not getting invited to the NFL Combine and then going undrafted, Lindsay forced his way onto the 53-man roster by excelling in the backfield and making an impact on special teams. Much like Terrell Davis in the 1990s, Lindsay is proving to be too talented to not consistently keep on the field.
