Broncos running back C.J. Anderson wasn’t going to beat around the bush after Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants.
“We got our ass kicked tonight. Plain and simple,” Anderson told Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro in the locker room. “Bad execution. Just didn’t play well in all phases of the game – protection, running the ball. Us as an offense, we didn’t play well.”
Anderson finished with a season-low 17 yards on nine carries for a mere 1.9 yards per carry. It was the first game this season he was also held without a pass reception.
Far more went wrong for the Broncos than a lackluster performance from their bell cow back, but Anderson knows that he personally needs to be better if Denver is going to rebound from the loss and take care of business this week against the Chargers in Los Angeles.
