Artturi Lehkonen scored a goal, bringing his total to three goals in the first two games. Nicolas Roy scored a goal, making it one goal in each of the first two games.
Mackenzie Blackwood made 25 saves, including crucial ones, that helped secure the two points.
The team’s energy was less pressured and had better chemistry, which head coach Jared Bednar wanted from his players.
“I can’t think of one thing that we talked about after last game and went through that we didn’t implement into our game and improve on …,” Bednar said. “The things that we liked out of the first game, we multiplied in this one, and the things that we didn’t like were so much better that put us in a position.”
