There’s a fever pitch beginning to build around the University of Colorado’s game with Oregon on Saturday night and the sound of things indicates the Buffs have an opportunity to make some big noise.
The wise guys in Las Vegas are liking the Buffs more and more with each passing day, and as more and more time is spent analyzing Oregon’s shellacking at the hands of Utah, Colorado finds itself with a great opportunity to show (on national television) that the program is back headed in the right direction.
Mike MacIntyre and Jim Leavitt have a big opportunity on their hands, win or lose, says Renaud Notaro of Mile High Sports AM 1340. He believes that so long as the Buffs have even a halfway decent showing – which includes selling out Folsom Field in his mind – CU can make inroads with donors and recruits.
Dee White, Notaro’s cohost and a former Duck himself, agrees. And he’s looking at a key injury in the Oregon secondary that could be the difference in the game.
Over the past two games Oregon has been without Chris Seisay, a redshirt sophomore who had 13 combined tackles in last year’s BCS National Championship semifinal and final, due to an undisclosed leg injury. It was reported Thursday that Seisay underwent surgery this week and is out indefinitely.
This could mean big things for the Buffs passing game, especially newly minted all-time leading receiver, Nelson Spruce.
